Get Ready For Winter
It’s not officially winter, but it’s definately start of the winter season as far as the mountains are concerned, so we’ve put together a small series of articles in order for you to make the most of any snow we may be lucky enough to fall.
We’ll have a few articles on winter skills, videos and tutorials. Starting with our Layering Guide today, ice axes tomorrow, crampons on thursday and snowholes on friday!
In the meantime, why not revisit the following articles:
To cap it off, we’ll review some items that you may find useful for the colder months, so keep an eye on the latest reviews over the next few weeks.
Just remember though that it is dangerous on them thar hills in the winter and if you’re at all uncertain of your winter skills, our articles will not replace experience and knowledge! Get an experienced friend to teach you, walk with a group or better still attend a proper winter skills course and stay safe!
Is there any Snow forecast?
We’re hoping to resurrect the weekly Snow Forecast every Thursday night. So if you want to keep up with these you can either follow us on Twitter or via our RSS feed. But looking at the long term forecasts there’s not much chance of hill snow soon..
