Best Guidebook Walks 5 – The Lochaber Traverse
This is an epic walk if ever there was one and this route featured in our article on My Favourite Guidebook Walks.
Over The Ben, CMD, Aonach Mor, Beag and finally the Grey Corries; that’s one walk you’d have to try. I did a few springs back, even adding on some more hills above Loch Treig to the first day. Snow did unfortunately put paid to the attempt, but we got the Grey Corries in. This is one to try again in the not too distant future.
The Route can only be found in Ken Wilson and Richard Gilbert’s Big Walks which you may be able to get second hand online, but well worth buying.

Many thanks for this post and the GPX file which were both very useful to me in planning my own Lochaber Traverse on 8 June. Full walk report here at Walkhighlands – http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=33235 As you’ll see, we were fortunate to get perfect weather!
Glad it was of use! I love the Grey Corries and the CMD just wish they were a bit nearer. Looks like you had a great day for it as well.
