Langdale to Scafell Pike Walk

If you just don’t like to do things the easy way, then this has to be your favoured option up Scafell Pike, and on to Scafell. Not only do you get to ascend the highest mountain in England, but you get to do so twice in the same day! If you want to ramp it up even more, then consider tackling the climb on Broad Stand, but only competent scramblers or climbers should venture onto that exposed route.

The route looks much tougher on the map than it actually is, with only 1600m of ascent. That’s still not to be taken lightly, but along with the distance makes for a decent day’s outing that’s worth getting out of bed for.

There’s an added incentive as it ends at a pub, The Old Dungeon Ghyll at Langdale which is always good for motivation.
